I made this baby blanket for some friends in Texas, they had a cute lil' baby boy

trying to figure out how to put the two together

i finally settled on this pattern just changed the start color.

i did a backwards single crochet for the boarder
(also known as the crab stitch)

i really love these two patterns put together to create a unique blanket, i used a pinwheel pattern for the blue color and the pattern for the green color is called flower garland, i added three extra rows to the green color to make it the same size as the blue. both patterns are from the same book  leisure arts book ” our best baby afghans. and then i just single crochet them together with a bright yellow, and then for the boarder i did reversed single crochet.

both patterns were really easy to do, it's a good beginner blanket, the only problem that i had with this blanket was trying to put all the pieces together, i could only put 2-3 pieces on at a time, which meant alot of ends to weave in.  but it's good practice for beginners, to help them learn how to line up the "squares" and to crochet them together and to learn how to end and add another piece.

although for beginners i would recommend starting with squares, just to make it a little more easier, because the octagons are a little tricky to work with, but it can be done if you take your time and have patience.
